“Rahul Gandhi’s allegations against ECI lack any evidence, calculated publicity stunt”: Tamil Nadu BJP’s ANS Prasad – World News Network

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], August 29 (ANI): Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad on Thursday said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations against the Election Commission of India lack any solid evidence, adding that it is nothing but a “calculated publicity stunt”.
“Rahul’s allegations lack any evidence, as the ECI has repeatedly challenged him to submit proof, which he has failed to provide, letting deadlines lapse. This pattern of sensational, unproven claims, like past EVM tampering accusations, exposes his political bankruptcy,” ANS Prasad said.
He further targeted Congress over its claim of “vote theft”, saying if it was really happening, then how come the opposition party registered victory in the Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls?
“The ECI, a globally respected institution, has dismissed his charges as “baseless” and an “insult to the Constitution,” affirming that voter roll revisions are transparent, with deletions in states like Bihar following due process. If vote theft were systemic, how does Congress explain its wins in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh?” he asked.
Furthermore, he alleged that Rahul Gandhi is “backed by foreign political and media firms”, aiming to rebrand himself and Congress while pressuring the INDIA alliance leaders, such as MK Stalin and Mamata Banerjee, to hail him as a formidable leader.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has received 53 claims and objections from the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation in Bihar during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025 of the electoral rolls.
The process of filing claims and objections will close on September 1.
According to the ECI’s daily bulletin on Wednesday, political parties have submitted a total of 53 claims and objections regarding the draft electoral roll, all of which are from the CPI(ML) Liberation. (ANI)
