“Issue pictures of those BJP supporters who raised slogans during survey”: Akhilesh Yadav on Sambhal violence – World News Network

Ambedkarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 27 (ANI): After the Uttar Pradesh police released photographs of those accused in the stone-pelting incident during the Sambhal violence, Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday demanded that the authorities also release pictures of BJP supporters who allegedly raised slogans during the survey.
Speaking to the media, Yadav reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) orchestrated the Sambhal riots to divert public attention from the by-polls.
“The BJP has manipulated elections by pressuring officials, and now they have instigated this riot in Sambhal to mislead the people. If the government is releasing pictures, they should also release images of the BJP supporters who raised slogans during the survey. What kind of survey takes place amidst slogan-shouting? They want to target MPs and MLAs to silence them,” Yadav stated.
The SP Chief further accused the BJP of operating not based on the Constitution but on a self-serving ideology, which he termed ‘Man Vidhaan’.
“They use government machinery to secure votes. If a forensic investigation of EVMs were conducted, it would reveal that one individual has cast multiple votes. This conflict is between Lucknow and Delhi. Those in Lucknow want to reach Delhi, and in this power struggle, the brotherhood of Uttar Pradesh is being destroyed,” he added.
The stone-pelting incident on November 24, which escalated into violence during a survey team’s visit, claimed four lives and injured several others, including officials and locals.
In a development related to the Sambhal violence, Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Aunjaneya Kumar Singh confirmed on Wednesday the involvement of three minors in the incident, which arose over a survey of a Mughal-era mosque.
Security personnel were deployed in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal for the third consecutive day on Wednesday after the violence and unrest over the ASI survey.
So far, 27 individuals, including 25 men and 2 women, have been arrested, and 7 FIRs have been registered in connection with the violence, according to police.
The survey was part of a legal process following a petition filed by senior advocate Vishnu Shanker Jain, who claimed the mosque was originally a temple.
A similar survey was conducted earlier on November 19, with local police and members of the mosque’s management committee present to monitor the process. (ANI)
