Agartala (Tripura) [India], May 13 (ANI): Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation after the conclusion of Operation Sindoor, CPI (M) leader Pabitra Kar welcomed PM Modi’s address and stated that all the people of India were waiting for him to speak following India and Pakistan reached the cessation of hostilities agreement.
The CPI (M) leader stressed that there is an international front in Pakistan, due to which it was necessary to teach a lesson to Pakistan and kill the terrorists. He also welcomed the cessation of atrocities agreement reached between India and Pakistan.
“This is a good thing, because people also want this. Why is the government not telling? Army people and officers are speaking, but why not from the political side? The second thing is that at this time, there is a front of international terrorism in Pakistan; it is necessary to teach a lesson and kill the terrorists. Tourists and Kashmiri horsemen have been killed in Pahalgam; this is a very heinous crime. At this time, all the parties are with the government. Of course, there should be talks between India and Pakistan; we welcome the ceasefire”, Pabitra Kar told ANI.
On Monday, during his address to the nation, PM Narendra Modi said that Operation Sindoor has carved out a benchmark in India’s fight against terrorism and has “set up a new parameter and new normal”.
PM Modi also referred to India conducting a surgical strike in 2016 at terror launch pads along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and to the air strikes at a terror camp in Pakistan in 2019 and said that after the two operations, Operation Sindoor is India’s policy against terrorism.
PM Modi said Indian Air Force, Army Navy, Border Security Force and India’s paramilitary forces are constantly on alert.
In Operation Sindoor, India conducted precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. (ANI)
