Purnia (Bihar) [India], March 22 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, stating the CM is exhausted and the people of Bihar are suffering under his leadership. Yadav reiterated his demand for the resignation of the Chief Minister, especially with the state assembly elections scheduled later this year.
During his press conference, Yadav pointed out that the recent behaviour of the CM has raised questions about his ability to lead, with people now suggesting that Nitish Kumar should retire. Yadav also referred to the 2020 elections when Nitish Kumar announced that it would be his last election during a meeting in Purnia.
“Given the way the Chief Minister’s behavior has been lately, people are now saying that the Chief Minister should retire,” Yadav stated.
“We (RJD) are the opposition party, he (Nitish Kumar) is the Chief Minister. He is older than us, and we personally respect him. We do not think it is appropriate to comment on his health; however, considering the situations that are coming to light, we all have demanded that he should now tender his resignation. Something or another is constantly coming to light. The Chief Minister himself had held his last meeting in Purnia in the 2020 elections, where he had announced that it would be his last election… This question is also being raised: who is running the government in today’s situation? …”, Yadav added.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh extended his best wishes to the people of Bihar on the state’s foundation day and said that Bihar is progressing.
“Bihar is progressing… Today, it is an honour to be called a Bihari anywhere in the country. Best wishes to the people of Bihar on Bihar Diwas,” Lalan Singh told reporters.
On Bihar Opposition leaders asking for CM Nitish Kumar’s resignation, he said, “Who is demanding the resignation?.. What they are saying has no meaning, and there can be no reaction to it…”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his wishes to the people of Bihar on the state’s foundation day and assured that his government will leave no stone unturned for the all-round development of the state.

“Congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of Bihar Diwa . Bihar has a glorious history and we are currently preparing a glorious future for Bihar with our determination. Together we will take Bihar’s pride to new heights,” Nitish Kumar posted on X.
